This two-semester course provides instruction in the basics of computer construction and repair; emphasizes troubleshooting and diagnosis of hardware and software failures; provides the skills necessary to gain entry-level employment in the field of computer servicing. Students have the opportunity to service and repair a wide range of personal computers while learning theory of operation and gaining programming skills. Students will use a variety of service tools. The operation of each component of a computer is studied and tested while assembling test computers. Designed to provide a solid foundation as a basis for a student's continuing education in the computer sciences.

This course traces the birth of information technology and briefly describes the concepts by linking it to the development of computers beginning with the first generation of computers. It introduces the learner to the basic working processes of a computer. It demonstrates how the memory and the processor coordinate activities based on instructions received from input devices or computer programs stored on the disk drive. This course discusses the different computer components and helps the learner to understand the role and contribution of each component to the effective working of the system. It explains software and hardware types and the uses to which they may be put. It also explains what data is, how it is processed and how the user may submit data to the computer for processing.

Use your computer skills to learn how to develop your own web page sites. This course is designed to provide the necessary skills and training for an entry level position in the field of Web Design. The class will focus on web page planning, basic design, layout, and construction (effective and ineffective), setup and maintenance of a web site, HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, and various web page and image creation tools.You will learn the basics of web design principles, digital media options, web design language (HTML), Internet uses and processes, design considerations, the impact of target market demographics, deliverables, and multiple software packages. Courses such as this can provide the skills and motivation for you to successfully complete college programs in one of several business areas. The primary purpose of this type of multi-media graphics education is to provide instruction for and about e-commerce and Internet communications through the use of Web Page Design. This is a repeatable course with progressive levels through Novice (this first level), Intermediate, and Advanced levels. You can turn this series of courses into a full Career Pathway as first an introductory, then a Concentration, and finally a Capstone course.
