Algebra 2 students will practice translations of various parent functions.  Students can independently work through this softchalk activity posted by JoAnne Ryan to the OER Commons (Original located at https://www.oercommons.org/courseware/lesson/13827/overview).

Once students have worked through the softchalk, I would follow-up with this Desmos Activity written by Kristin Fouss.  The activity will provide students an opportunity to write the equation for a variety of functions that have been transformed.  I would suggest two students sharing one device to encourage collaboration and discussion.  You can pause the activity to share students' responses and lead a discussion on each transformation and how it impacts the equation.
