This is a remix of "Exploring Work and Energy" by Alison Stortz, St. Agnes Schools, St. Paul, MN. The activity introduces Work and Energy without using those terms by linking these newer ideas to Newton's Laws. Verbage was changed to allow for a broader use (ie. spring scale vs. force probe) and some sentence structure. Students in this version are also asked to draw Free Body Diagrams and construct Newton's Second Law equations. This will be a good springboard for Work vs Energy discussions, and how they're two ways of looking at the same thing (especially GPE vs W).[1]
