Addition and Subtraction Expressions (EngageNY Remix)
The follow materials are a modified version of EngageNY Grade 6, Module 4, Lesson 9.
The lesson linked below supports students in understanding the connection between verbal sentences and variable expressions. Students practice modeling simple addition and subtraction expressions with variables and translating between forms. I have added a Desmos sorting activity to the "Exercise" portion of the lesson to make it a little bit more engaging. I have also edited the "Problem Set".
