Deepen students conceptual understanding of proportions, ratios, and unit rates by completing "Ratio Tables and Unit Rates" VDOE MIP. The resource should be completed prior to the "Buying Coffee" task. I recommend allowing students to work together on the MIP and discussing answers and reasoning in parts. For example, students should work together to solve the questions related to Julia on page 4 and then discuss answers as a class. Students should work together to solve and answer the questions related to Lauren on page 4 and then discuss answers as a class. Finally, students can work together or individually to fill in the table and answer the questions on page 5. As the teacher leads the class in a discussion about each section, s/he should plot points on Desmos by adding a table. Doing so will help familiarize students with the website, so they can use it for the "Buying Coffee" task.
