Material Added: Desmos Activity Turtle Time Trials
Show students the graph on "Comparing Speeds". Ask students to make a prediction about Car B, but do not reveal the answer. Complete "Turtle Time Trials" on Desmos. While in Desmos, the teacher should select the "pacing" icon in order to only allow certain slides to be visible to students at a given time. Pace students so that they can complete slides 1-3, and then discuss responses. Then, pace students so they can complete slides 4 and 5 before leading them in a discussion about creating the relationship of distance vs. time for the third turtle. Take students one a time through the remaining slides, discussing after each.
Return to the "Comparing Speeds" graph to have students justify or adjust their original prediction.
