Rock Cycle Skit (Remix)
Purpose
The purpose of this activity is to have students demonstrate mastery of the rock cycle in a creative format.
Context for Use
This should be used as the way that the students will learn/relearn about the rock cycle. Students will be provided with the information about how rocks form and an image of the rock cycle. Students will then, in groups of 3-4, create a way to present the information. Students may use one of the following formats:
skit, commercial, song, puppet show
Students will need 1-2 days to create their presentation and do any research that they need outside of class notes. Student will then present their creation to the rest of the class. The amount of days was adjusted from the original due to our classes being 90 minutes long and not 45 minutes.
Assessment
Students will get a grade based on how correct their presentation was.
Students will also draw out the rock cycle at the end of the presentations to demonstrate mastery.
