Solving One-Step Multiplication and Division Equations (EngageNY Remix)

This lesson is adapted from Grade 6, Module 4, Lessons 23 through 27, by EngageNY.

In this lesson, students think about the concepts of equality and inequality and then work to solve one step multiplication and division equations using tape diagrams. This lesson should follow the lessons titled "Understanding Equality and Inequality" and "Solving One-Step Addition and Subtraction Equations". This lesson is a combination of multiple Engage lessons that I have edited to focus on only multiplication and division equations.  If you use the other lessons listed here, you will notice parallels between the lessons that help to build continuity of understanding for students. The first file is the teacher notes for the lesson and the second file is the student materials.
