Pocket Protractor Remix
This is a remix of "Pocket Protractor" by Illustrative Mathematics (http://goopenva.org/courses/pocket-protractor/view).
The original resource has students creating angle-measuring devices--protractors--out of paper. In the process, they create a 30-60-90 triangle. To remix, I would also have the students make a 45-45-90 triangle with a separate sheet of origami paper by folding the paper in half on the diagonal. Then students can use it to discover the trigonometric ratios of the two triangles. It could be even more powerful, students started out with different sizes of paper so they can see a pattern.
