Horizontal Projectile Motion
Using a projectile launcher, a meter stick, and carbon paper, students will conduct a multi-part lab. The first part of the lab has students determine the speed at which projectiles leave the launcher. The second part has students launch horizontally from different heights and collect horizontal displacement data. Students will then plot a graph of launch height vs. launch range to determine the mathematical relationship between the two. They will use their velocity from the first part of the lab to help them conduct an uncertainty analysis and will also conduct an error analysis.
