Activity Instructions:

The students should...

• glance at title, pictures, and format to make a prediction on what the text might be about
• read text once quickly (not stopping on difficult words or passages) to get the main idea
• turn and talk to discuss the main idea answering the question ¿De qué se trata?
• read a second time, highlighting key words and circling new words
• read a third time, dividing reading into sections and annotate main idea of each section in margins with a partner
• compare section ideas with another pair of students
• work with a partner to figure out unknown words or sections
• answer comprehension questions with a partner (see below)
• compare answers with another group
• hand in and/or review answers as a whole class

4. ¿Quién recibió becas?
