Land and People: Finding a Balance
Introduction
Land and People: Finding a Balance is an environmental
study project that engages high school students in studying
earth science resource issues. The project focuses on the
interaction between people and the environment in three
regions of the United States: Cape Cod, Los Angeles, and
the Everglades. Each section of this project is devoted to
one of the three regions

My Suggestions
I have laid out the way that I use this resource in my lesson plans under the section Land and People Lesson Plans (Editable). I would recommend completing this unit once you have finished all biomes and are on the units regarding human impact on the environment (Environmental Science Classes.)
For Earth Science classes, I would focus on highlighting the components related to how water quality is impacted and focus strictly on Cape Cod activity. This will allow students to understand how surface activities will impact ground water supplies.
