Overview
Directions: Solve the following inequalities. Write each with the variable on the left and then on the right. Graph it on the number line. Label 3 points on the number line. Tell 3 numbers that would be in the solution set and if the circle is open or closed.
Directions
This activity provides students practice solving inequalities and graphing them. It promotes understanding of inequalities as having multiple solutions. Students can work independently or in a collaborative setting. Students are also labeling if the graph has an open or closed circle. The closed circle is grey, while the open circle is the same color of the background.
Summary:
Students will solve the ten inequalities. Write each solution with the variable on the left and then on the right. Graph it on the number line. Label 3 points on the number line. Tell 3 numbers that would be in the solution set and if the circle is open or closed.
