In this lesson plans students create a augmented reality (AR) model of the water cycle.  They will use an IPad and AR Makr app to create a 3d model to explain this natural occurance.  To incorperate Computer Science into this lesson we look at the Data and Analysis section of the Grade 3 Computer Science standards.  Specifically CS SOL 3.13, this standard drives many of the questions inside this lesson plan.

Iteration and Looping

This is a lesson plan on iteration and looping to be used with high school aged students who are using the python programming language.  This resource includes a PowerPoint presentation along with a python file for students to use to practice the concept of iteration.  The python file has areas in which the student is asked to complete the statement by inserting variables in the program.  As the student works through the steps of the program, the steps build up to the final task which is to write the code for a basic random number generator.

Brush Your Teeth Algorithm

Using a Fluffy pancakes recipe students will identify a recipe as a type of algorithm.  Students will identify the part of the recipe that is numbered as the steps or algorithm is numbered.    Students are expected to identify that number one step is done before number 2 and so on.  Students will work in pairs to create their own algorithm for brushing teeth.  Students should work in pairs.  One student should create the algorithm and the other should debug the algorithm.
