OVERVIEWThe purpose of this lab activity is to help students develop a better understanding of  the layers  of Earth’s atmosphere.  Earth’s atmosphere is composed of  thin layers of gases that protect the planet and its life forms.   The students will work in small groups and combine different liquids that will stay separated because each liquid has a different density and therefore relates the concept back to the layers of the Earth’s atmosphere.

This is a choice board focusing on the layers of the atmosphere. Students will have an opportuity to choose from 6 different projects to share their understanding of the layers of the atmosphere. All projects contain a description as well as a grading rubric.
