VDOE Grant - Advancing Computer Science Education (ACSE)

Hello, Fellow CS Advocates of VA!

I am excited to share over 40 lessons plans (grades K-8) that have been created by teachers through the Advancing Computer Science Education (ACSE) grant. The ACSE grant, Computer Science For Region 8 (CS4R8) was a grant awarded to Cumberland County Public Schools in partnership with Longwood University's ITTIP. As a result of part of this grant, teachers took an online course introducing them to the CS SOL. Later in the course, they were challenged to collaborately create intergrated CS lessons with core subject areas.

As a celebration for the upcoming #CSEdWeek, we have sharing these lesson on Twitter over the past couple months (https://twitter.com/ITTIPSTEM). You will also be able to find the lessons from our group with the hashtag, #CS4R8. Please let us know if you use any of the lessons! We would love your feedback.

If you can not get to an online document or download a copy of your own, please let me know ASAP and I will make it work! (stephanie@ittip.org).

Enjoy!

Are these lessons only available on Twitter?  Are they located in GoOpenVA?

All of them will be released on Twitter by next week (CS Week). I am working on uploading and getting the lessons approved in GoOpenVA. I apologize. I did have 10 or so approved (lessons for grades K and 1) when I moved them to the folders here, but I changed the logo and now they are all pending again. I am also using the tag for the lessons so they will also be searchable here: #CS4R8 They will also be located in the GoOpenVA group: https://goopenva.org/groups/computer-science-for-region-8-cs4r8-grades-k-8/573/

Hopefully you will see them all here soon! Until then, yep, Twitter :(. Thanks for asking!!  PLEASE let me know if you have any other questions.
