Students practice rhythm literacy skills using a slide deck. The students practice moving the pictures around the squares to make new rhythms.

Students work individually or collaboratively to explore vocal range, high and low sounds, and vowel sounds using Google Arts and Culture: Blob Opera. Students explore how each voice part sounds and interacts with others. After exploration is complete, students can use the tool to create and record their own Blob Opera.

Students will demonstrate oral communication and literacy skills by telling and retelling stories with creative dramatics. Students will apply a creative process for music, and improvise with movement and music to enhance a short story or poem.

Students will compose short melodic phrases using commonly found household items, such as a rock to create “Melodies that Rock.” Students will explore music contour in relationship to high and low notes, and melodic patterns and motion.
