Solve problems using ration tables and computational procedures for percents, ratios, and proportions - Algebra Readiness Remediation Plan
Solve a proportion to determine the missing side length of similar quadrilaterals or triangles - Mathematics Instructional Plan
Solving a proportion to find a missing term. Mathematics Instructional Plans (MIPs) help teachers align instruction with the Mathematics Standards of Learning (SOL) by providing examples of how the knowledge, skills and processes found in the SOL and curriculum framework can be presented to students in the classroom.
Students read and solve consumer application problems on their devices. As students enter their answers, the cell on Google Sheets turns blue if it is a correct answer or remain the same color if incorrect. Students are able to evaluate their own responses to validate their solutions.
Play with the left and right hands in different ways, and explore ratio and proportion. Start on the Discover screen to find each challenge ratio by moving the hands. Then, on the Create screen, set your own challenge ratios. Once you've found a challenge ratio, try to move both hands while maintaining the challenge ratio through proportional reasoning.
This lesson is a Jamboard of solving for the variable with proportions. Students use the Desmos calculator. Students use cross multiplying and dividing to find the variable.
