Plan a meal with your family. Outlined in the main lesson use at least 4 of the 5 food groups when preparing the meal. Take pictures as you go and summerize the final product and how you did. Have some fun with it.Alternate assignment is to prepare a meal on paper including 4 of the 5 food groups with every thing on paper. Submit what recipes you found on line and sumarize your findings.

In this lesson plan, it provides students the opportunity to explore the rules of adding postive and negative integers using the online tool of Desmos. This is a lesson that encourages blended learning, class discussion, student discovery and provides multiple entry points for all students to actively participate. The plan includes the Desmos activity "Adding Integers" with the goal of creating two card groups with the same amount. The goal is to use the most cards to create equal groups. The level of difficulty increases with each new challenge. It begins using all positive integers then moves on to include negative integers. The lesson plan also includes suggestions on where to pause the activity to hold class discussions and another online tool to explore zero pairs using virtual integer chips. Suggested discussion questions are included to help lead students to the main idea if they are struggling.

This lesson includes two versions: 1. Blended Learning in person instruction and 2. remote learning for virtual teaching. The lesson focuses on solving equations that require simplifying each side by combining like terms. In the lesson the students will do a review activity of simplifying expressions by combining like terms then are posed with a problem of the day that requires that skill to solve a multi-step equation. The lesson provides questions to lead discussion and how to help guide students during their learning process. There is a blend of individual practice and partner work for collaboration. In the remote setting, the collaboration piece is a self checking activity of them practicing the new skill. It allows an opportunity for students to share their thought processes and reflection. It would be a great lesson after two step equations have been taught and starting multi-step equations involving combining like terms. Activities: 1. Review of combining like terms online practice and video 2. problem of the day 3. video lesson on new topic 4. around the room collaboration/virtual self checking around the room. 5. Reflection/Summary students summarize their understanding using vocaroo 6. apply new skill to solve problem of the day 7. Challenge question apply new skill to an application problem.

Within this interactive lesson, students will navigate and explore comparing positive and negative fractions, deicmals, and percents through Desmos. Students will also gain practice from finding equivalencies, using picture representations and number lines, and through mathematical discourse. Students will be able to do the following:Use a number line to sort, compare, and order integers, fractions, decimals, and percents.Compare integers, fractions, decimals, and percents.Order integers, fractions, decimals, and percents.
