Explore how parameters of the function equation affect its graph; Assess understanding of transformations - Rich Mathematical Task Template and Student Version
Formative Assessment - Use knowledge of transformations to convert between equations and the corresponding graphs of functions - Just in Time Quick Check, Teacher Notes, and Supporting Resources
This is an originally created Desmos activity. In this activity, students interact with different screens to perform a combination of transformations. Students will check their work and, upon revealing the answer, will not be able to change their answers. After checking their work, students will justify their creations.

Just in Time Quick Check Application of Transformations
After completing this activity students will understand the parent functions and how transforming functions impacts the equation.
Students will get practice writing equations for transformed functions. Students will work through a softchalk activity provided through OER Commons and then collaborate on a Desmos activity.
Students tell the story of a jellyfish moving through the water using transformations of quadratic functions in standard form.Students sketch graphs of the transformations.Students put all four transformations on one graph to check that their story and transformations work as desired. Students may change any transformations prior to submission.
