The atmospheric Perspective lesson is a cross-curricular lesson designed by an Elementary Art teacher to support Language Arts instruction. Created By: Elizabeth Martin Powhatan County Public Schools.

Art Critique with Digital White Boards. Student artists can use digital white board technology as a place to post images of their artwork for feedback from peers and teachers.

Sculptures Come to Life. The teacher can facilitate a sculpture project where students make an object using paper mache, modeling clay or cardboard.

Using 3rd grade objectives, listed above, the student will be assessed on at the end of the project. The student will - -used 5 or more different fractions with different denominators (1/1, ½, ⅔. 3/4, 4/6,⅛) - used a different tool/material/idea for each “mini project”- wrote a short explanation for each work of art. (1/1 is a picture of my dog) - am prepared to share my work in class with my peers. Bonus - Extended my thinking creating Fraction Art with a mixed number - 1 1/3

Students will identify that creating a product, packaging, or place is the job of an artist using a creative design process to develop the very best solution. Students will use the iterative design process to develop ideas and create a new and innovative product, package, or place design.

Students will explore both historical and contemporary purposes of masks in various cultures. Students will analyze visual principles and properties of masks construction. Students will communicate personal stories and identity through the creation of masks using contemporary materials.
