Information Technology is a broad field to learn about. Within IT there are many careers. This lesson is designed to help engage the students in the IT field where they will be able to research and discover various jobs they are interested in. Students will discover the education requirments, possible benefits of different jobs, salary, hiring demad, and growth potential in the field.The activities include: brainstorming, compare and contrast, research, writing,  and using software either in Google or Microsoft.

This is a visual that can open a class discussion on the various differnent professions in the internet technology field. This graphic can also be included as a poster in the classroom. 

The student or class will read about book ciphers and how they work.  Students will then be able to use a cipher provided to crack a secret message.  Teachers can edit the message to fit their needs and make adjustments as desired.  This is one mini lesson out of a series of five, this is lesson four and it can be completed alone, or with any of the other lessons.

The student or class will watch a video clip about ciphers, specifically Caesar Ciphers.  Next students will learn more about encryption and decryption through the use of "keys".  Lastly, students will be introduced to the career path choices as a Cyber-security analyst. This is one lesson out of a series of five, and can be used alone, or with the some or all of the other four lessons.

This activity is designed to help students review the potential careers associated with computer science.  This should follow a discussion about the wide variety of career choices for students.

Students will develop a website to gain and provide an awareness of the emerging technologies and careers related to the internet in today’s world, through research and group presentations of the website(s).

The students will copy and paste code snippets from Google Slides and run them on Replit.  After students run the code, they will screenshot the images created using "import Turtle", a graphics program within Python.  These screenshots will be used as a digital greeting card and students will practice composing emails. Lastly, students send/email their created digital artifacts to three of their friends or family members to wish them a "Happy New Year".*The image attached is just a sample and may or may not be what this lessons code creates.
