Ser "To BE" Notes & Guide
Conditional Remix & Share Permitted

SERI found "SER" to be one of the most difficult things for students to remember. However, this mnemonic has become one of my most popular lessons. Students remember and use them all the time after they have learned it this way.The first form is your teacher notes with all the answers. It will help you lead them and understand the lesson.  The second one is the student form they would fill it in as you lead them in. Normally, after I present this lesson. I ask students to write sentences about them using all the functions of “SER”. Then about their parents.  I modeled on myself first. Then I ask them to come to the front of the class and read their examples.

The purpose of this hypermedia is to provide Teachers and English Language Learners content based interactive tool to learn about the Solar System.  It can be used as a whole class lesson, in a small group or students can work on it individually.  This hypermedia presentation is full of visual images and figures to reach to different proficiency level learners.  The Solar System presentation starts with a site map which lists all the nine planets in order with links to Sun and the moon. The Power Point slides have information about each of the nine planets with facts and actual real graphics of the planets taken from the NASA website.  Students can explore each slide and click on Hyperlinks to learn more about each individual planet.

Students prepare an elementary class lesson to present to the class using a children's story in Spanish (ie Huevos Verdes con Jamón, Si le das una galleta a un ratón, etc).Depending on current classroom/social distancing rules, in the past they have done 'story time' all sitting around the students presenting (they brought in a towel or pillow or blanket to sit on the floor in circle time like they remembered from elementary school).
