In this demo, two balls are rolled down a ramp, one with greater mass. They hit a plate near the bottom which illustrates the relationship between mass, momentum, force and impulse.

In this video, Alison Gaylord uses a CO2 powered "rocket cart" to demonstrate the conservation of momentum and propulsion, and shows that the momentum of the system is equal in magnitude, but opposite in direction, ensuring the momenta of the system always equals zero.

Blue Ridge PBS created a video series in collaboration with the staff of the Virginia Department of Education called Virginia Roots: A Journey into Appalachian Music. Instructional resources were created to demonstrate effective classroom application of the media and concepts in standards-aligned sample lessons aligned to the 2020 Music Standards of Learning. The episode guide contains resources to accompany the Appalachian Music media including a description of the video, discussion prompts, and links to both the media and standards aligned instructional resources created by a team of Virginia educators.

Episode 5: The jam session is at the heart of old time music in Appalachia. In this episode we travel to Floyd, Virginia to the Handmade Music School's Old Time Get Together, an event that brings over a hundred musicians together each year to learn tunes "knee to knee". Virginia Roots is a video series for middle and high school music that focuses on the role of Appalachian Music and is designed to help teachers incorporate traditional music and art forms into the curriculum.

Episode 2: This video breaks down the classic old time tune, "Cripple Creek" into the individual instrumental parts and brings them all together for a live performance featuring the Biscuit Eaters, a family band comprised of the Wilkerson family. Viewers are introduced the A/B/A/B structure common in many Appalachian tunes and demonstrates the roles of the fiddle, guitar, mandolin, banjo, and upright bass.
