Interpret graphs and data collection to create a bar/chart graph in Google Slides.
Standard of Learning (SOL) 3.14
The student will investigate and describe the concept of probability as a measurement of chance and list possible outcomes for a single event.
Just in Time Quick Check Probability
Just in Time Quick Check Probability as a Number Between Zero and One
Just in Time Quick Check Probability Practical Problems
This is a probability assessment to be used at the end of the probability unit and guide further instruction.
Exploring the concept of probability -- Mathematics Instructional Plans (MIPs) help teachers align instruction with the Mathematics Standards of Learning (SOL) by providing examples of how the knowledge, skills and processes found in the SOL and curriculum framework can be presented to students in the classroom.
I created a Google Slide presentation and game for my students to practice probability. This lesson supports sol 3.14, investigate and describe the concept of probability as a measurement of chance and list possible outcomes for a single event. Prior to this lesson, my students did an experiment of chance by tossing a coin. The Google Slide presentation reviews probability vocabulary and asks students questions about the probability of pulling a certain color marble from a box. Students turn and talk to their neighbor during the presentation about the chance of an event occurring. Then, the teacher asks one of the students to stand and tell the class what their neighbor said. After the presentation, students play a Google Slides game. I created the game for distance learning but I will be able to use it in the classroom too.
