The student will evaluate algebraic expressions for given replacement values of the variable. This assignment includes negitive numbers and a few tricky questions. It is reccommended to review GEMDAS prior to the assignment. There are 8 equestions total and when answered, a few pieces of the digital picture will reveal itself. The digital picture will have the answer to the joke "Why do Giraffes get Bad Grades?"

This lesson is square roots of perfect squares.  Squaring of a number and taking a square root are inverse operations.  This is great practice for the students since seventh graders cannot use a calculator on this skill.
