This document lists all of the metadata (desriptive information) choices that you can use when PUBLISHING an Open Author resource on #GoOpenVA.  It is a helpful reference for those new to publishing resources and can ehlp you plan ahead before you get online to add the resource.  A printable Word document is added.

Katie Fielding of Prince William created a Wakelet for teachers on using Google Earth for various types of educational projects.

This presentation focuses on the effective use of Google Forms. It is about 44 minutes long and the accompanying slide deck is included.

Tim Mays of Sussex developed this short tutorial on a nice formula trick for combining cells in a Google Sheets document, and then making everything lowercase. Running time: 3:41

This was a resource Henrico county teachers and students utilized during virtual learning. The site was accessible to all PreK - 12 learners in the county and consisted of choice boards, performance tasks, STEAM, and Book talks. This site was similar to Netflix where students had a choice and voice in the learning process. These resources focused on Henrico's Learning Profile which is a synthesis of the Profile of a VA Graduate and focuses on the 6 C's - Quality Character, Global Citizen, Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Creative Thinking.

PowerPoint used for the VSTE 2021 conference presentation on sharing and how educators can use #GoOpenVA to learn from each other, growing their skills.

Users can rate resources on #GoOpenVA using the Star Rating system, with 5 stars being the highest praise.  You can find resources that have been rated using two different methods.  This downloadable, illustrated, step-by-step guide can help you find any resources that have already been rated.  NOTE: The number of resources that are rated relies on the help of users like you to add your opinion!

Patrick Hausammann of Clarke developed a handout to help teachers organize their Google Classrooms.

Prince William ITCs developed this hefty Wakelet to provide information to teachers about using Zoom for virtual learning. Some information is specific to Prince William's network but some can be used by any Zoomer.

Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) is phasing elementary students, kindergarten-third grade, back to the classroom. Due to COVID-19, students have experienced a virtual learning environment since last school year. Identifying learning loss or gaps for students is crucial for academic growth and success. Students complete the Phonological Awareness Literacy Screening (PALS) to measure knowledge of various literacy fundamentals: alphabet recognition, phonological awareness, concept of words, and knowledge of letter sounds and spelling. In addition, students complete the Virginia Kindergarten Readiness Program (VKRP) and division fall formatives to measure mathematical thinking. The results of these assessments identify any learning loss or gaps for students. To improve and provide a high-quality instructional experience, students would receive targeted support from a VBCPS evening tutor.  These planning documents are intended to support tutors in developing effective and targeted small group instruction for students.

Attached is the instructor powerpoint and guide. The idea is that the individual training teachers can pick these resources up and begin training.
