Rhyming Time is a cross-curricular lesson designed by an Elementary Librarian to support Math instruction. Created By: Kelly Terry, Powhatan County Public Schools.

This activity is used for students to master solving problems using the following trigonometric functions: sine, cosine, and tangent. The activity is self checking, so students should be aware of their progress as they work.

This presentation is an adaptation of The Foundations of #GoOpenVA Workshop in a Box.  It was presented at the VBCPS Digital Learning Summit 2020.  Participants learned what rocking Open Education Resources (OER) are and why they are important, the difference between copyright and Creative Commons licenses, and how to navigate the #GoOpenVA platform including setting up a profile and searching for resources that are free and aligned to Virginia Standards of Learning. The presentation was facilitated using the free version of Pear Deck.

This lesson was designed by CPS Art teachers for Elementart and Middle School Art teachers. We made sure to have space for art and cross-curricular objectives, vocabulary, modifications, as well as extensions.

These documents provide directions and a template for writing a scientific paper to share students' results.

Students can use the attached list (modify if needed) to select an approved science experiment, then conduct research with the form provided.

This lesson is part of a unit based on a road trip.  In this lesson students use the given website to research diffrent attributes of cars and trucks that would make them desirable choices.

SERI found "SER" to be one of the most difficult things for students to remember. However, this mnemonic has become one of my most popular lessons. Students remember and use them all the time after they have learned it this way.The first form is your teacher notes with all the answers. It will help you lead them and understand the lesson.  The second one is the student form they would fill it in as you lead them in. Normally, after I present this lesson. I ask students to write sentences about them using all the functions of “SER”. Then about their parents.  I modeled on myself first. Then I ask them to come to the front of the class and read their examples. 

Students search for movies, songs, tv shows, and common phrases that are related to a Shakespearean work.
