This is an introduction to color theory| including identifying| finding| sorting| and making connections with primary and secondary colors. The students will be required to find items in both primary and secondary colors in the setting where they are listening.

This is a review of color theory with an introduction to the value scale. Colors will be connected with emotions and how this is displayed through body language. Students will create a color wheel and value scale with crayons.

This program examines the critical roles that Black servicewomen played in the U.S. Armed Forces during World War II. Nearly 9,000 African American women served throughout the United States and in England under racially segregated and discriminatory conditions. Black servicewomen trained in all-Black units and were permitted only to compose a certain enlistment quota. They served largely in support roles and in positions of menial and manual labor. They were barred from the same advancement opportunities given to white women and almost entirely prohibited from serving overseas. And still, they served. Moreover, in their support of achieving Allied victory in 1945, Black women realized a link between promoting civil rights for African Americans in the Armed Forces and on the home front. 

Students will use variables in coding to represent parts of combinations, use models to determine the total combinations, and create a formula to calculate the total combinations in a scenario (the Fundamental Counting Principle).

Combining Like Terms is an important skills in Math 8 and Algebra I. This lesson draws on students prior knowledge of match 3 games in order to help understanding of this concept.

This is a simple activity/lesson to have students use a comunication board to communicate and to ask and answer questions in class.  

Observe how computer networks function and make connections to the different ways we communicate (both in written form and modern forms). The students will discuss, in a whole class setting, how information can be communicated electronically and transmitted using computing devices via a network (e.g., email, social media, video conferencing, blogging).

Use https://goopenva.org/courses/poems-that-tell-a-story-narrative-and-persona-in-the-poetry-of-robert-frost  and "Love that Dog" to break down POV in poetry. Have students pair up the famous work of Robert Frost with a novel that references the poem. This allows students to break down narrative poetry in multiple formats, and experience the storytelling aspect of poetry. I remixed this lesson to tie in a poetry novel that uses Robert Frost's poem. This lesson fit nicely with the material I use to teach the novel. 

This performance task is designed for third grade students and higher to compare and contrast a group of items based on attributes or actions classified into at least two sets and subsets.  The items being classified are polygons.  The use of algorithms and flowcharts is also a key component of the performance task.
