Comparing computer networking to soil. Students will be shown a live plant and its root system to model how a computer network spreads. Students will be making soil layer models (1 to eat and 1 to keep) and reviewing soil content using micro bits.

Modern technology can make tasks happen instantly with the push of a button or a swipe of a finger. How do our community helpers use this technology responsibly to make their jobs easier and more efficient?

This lesson on keeping personal information safe includes a video and a decision making chart.  Help students understand what is and is not ok to share.

What materials dissolve in water?  How does water temperature affect this?  Your students will work in groups using a thermometer and timer to discover if salt, sugar, sand, and flour will dissolve best in hot or cold water.  Further, your class will learn to record and submit data on a Google form and create graphs.  This will allow you to have great class discussions to draw conclusions about the effect temperature has on dissolving matter. 

Students will learn a new vocabulary word - Responsibility.  Read a story about some responsible bugs and then brainstorm ideas for being responsible at home and in the classroom.

Overview of the activity:You will learn about the culture of Mexico and Spain, and take a VR QUEST virtual tour of Mexico and Spain. Then, you will be reading about and researching a Spanish-speaking country. You will collaboratively link your research into an Interactive Map, creating a single interactive class presentation document. As a culminating activity the class will be experiencing the culture of Mexico, Spain, and the countries by doing Green Screen photos in traditional clothing, and by having a food-tasting day.
