Essential questions to be used for interpersonal speaking activities that align with Vista Higher Learning Descubre 2 Chapter 5 En la ciudad
I created a Google Slide presentation and game for my students to practice probability. This lesson supports sol 3.14, investigate and describe the concept of probability as a measurement of chance and list possible outcomes for a single event. Prior to this lesson, my students did an experiment of chance by tossing a coin. The Google Slide presentation reviews probability vocabulary and asks students questions about the probability of pulling a certain color marble from a box. Students turn and talk to their neighbor during the presentation about the chance of an event occurring. Then, the teacher asks one of the students to stand and tell the class what their neighbor said. After the presentation, students play a Google Slides game. I created the game for distance learning but I will be able to use it in the classroom too.
Students will work together in groups to plan and record their own reality show based on one of three scenarios given. Within the presentation students must include examples of the present subjunctive and the conditional tenses. The video must be a minimum of two minutes in length

In this activity students will practice and reflect on the following:SOL 6.12ad The student willa) represent a proportional relationship between two quantities, including those arising from practical situations;d) make connections between and among representations of a proportional relationship between two quantities using verbal descriptions, ratio tables, and graphsPlease See Activity for detailed directions.

Students will research and present information and culture about the different hispanic indigenous groups.
This project is designed to demonstrate understanding of health and well-in Spanish Speaking Countries by providing cultural examples and comparing it to habits of the United States. The student will understand the importance of social justice and be able to write a public service announcement to inform the public.** This performance assessment was developed by a collaborative team of teachers and division staff from Middlesex, Poquoson, and West Point school divisions.
Students will complete a variety of Pythagorean Theorem word problems:ones where they must find a legones where they must find a hypotenuseones where they must find a perimeterones where they must find 2 legs. The activity is created so that the graph animates their solution to help them determine whethere the distance they found was too short, too long, or just right.
Students observe patterns between the graph, x-intercepts, factored form, roots, equation, and zeros. They use the patterns they observed and the information given in one column to fill in the other columns.
A very short but very important note on how VBCPS teachers, administrators, and other instructional staff are able to access to #GoOpenVA.
Now that students have researched their topic/social issue and created an effective formal written argument, it’s time for them to demonstrate their rhetorical skills by applying them to another genre! Part II: Performance-Based Assessment Google Doc.
For the following project, students will be engaging in real-world topics research on a topic of their choice and producing an essay or proposal that argues their position on that topic. This is a persuasive paper, not an expository paper. They will need to take a position regarding the position they choose and support it using research.
This assignment can be completed individually or in a group of 2-3. The teacher begins with slide 2, a welder can earn $17/hr. Then using multiplicative or additive properties to complete the table. The first 2 career options give hourly rates. The following two give weekly rates, while the last is a yearly salary. Students can work up or down the ratio table depending on their comfort level. The last three slides are for the students to explore salary options not mentioned before. Students are increasing by 10's and doubles to find the salaries.
In this self - checking activity, students will answer questions related to expressing a ratio in one of the three forms. As students enter their answers, a part of the picture will be revealed. Once students complete the self - checking part of the activity. they will complete a reflection question explaining how the relationship changes when the numbers are switched.
