Parents and caregivers should set rules that reduce “screen time” by limiting the amount of time children spend on the computer, watching TV and playing video games. The time spent in front of the screen could be better spent being more physically active.
This strategy is an engaging and effective way to get students into reflection practice. It can be adapted to multiple grade levels and formats. Reflection is an important strategy for students to acquire as it helps them retain information. This exit ticket can also serve as an effective formatve assessment.

Tell the students that they will need to choose two different VA landscapes to draw including details and color.Draw an outline in pencil of the first regional landscape of your choice.Discuss colored pencil techniques. When coloring in your drawings, use several different colors and shades of a color as well as how to vary the pressure on your pencil to add depth to your drawing. Have students pass out supplies.Students write what two regions of their choice on the back of their first landscape drawing. Students work independently on their first landscape.

The Rich Murray Journalism Scholarship is presented annually to a graduating Virginia high school student who excels in the area of sports journalism and must be pursuing a college degree in journalism, communication, video, media or a related field with intentions of pursuing a career in sports.
The students will roll the dice and complete a physical exercise the number of times shown on the die.
Helps middle school and high school youth identify the media's messages related to dating and relationships so that they can develop their own ideas and values and choose healthy relationship behaviors.

Each year, 45 students are designated Ron Brown Scholars and receive $10,000 annually for four years, for a total of $40,000. The recipients may use the need and merit-based scholarships to attend any four-year accredited college/ university within the United States.

This is a fun, quick and easy way for students practice Data Anaylsis. Students will roll a 6 sided cube with each side containing a different St. Pat’s Day image. Students will record their data on a graph. Students will then make a prediction on which image they think they will roll next based on their data. Included is an editable cube so you can choose your own images. It's not limited to St. Pat's Day.
