The website is the focal point of the FLLITE Project, which takes the creative moments found in everyday language use as the basis for lessons in second language literacy. By emphasizing language play as central to communication, FLLITE lessons aim to develop language awareness as well as communicative abilities through the integration of speaking, reading, listening, and writing tasks.
The goal of the FLLITE Project is the publication of classroom-tested lessons based on authentic texts in different languages, for example, blogs, Internet memes, YouTube videos, slam poetry, and so forth.

Programming is frequently done in a group setting. The practice of peer code review in computer science fosters effective communication, and allows students to see a variety of coding styles. In this lesson, students will be writing their own programs (practical problems) involving the use of the geometric formulas (codes) used in Grade 6 Mathematics. Students will work in groups to peer review other student’s practical problems in order to determine if the problem (program) meets the needs of the end-user (other students). Considerations of the end-user may include usability, accessibility, age-appropriate content, respectful language, user perspective, pronoun use, color contrast, and ease of use.

In the engage section of the 5Elesson, students are introduced to the role of fossils as evidence of evolution and evolutionary relationships by watching a videos about the discovery of Lucy and Ardi and consider what type of information that they can gain from skull fossils. Students will then explore features of skulls from human ancestors and the modern day Homo sapien. After measuring skull to cheekbone ratios, students will create a graph to compare various species. Several interactives are provided to explain fossils, skeletal evidence for human evolution, and phylogenetic trees. Then, students will apply their skills of analyzing data about anatomical similarities and genetic information to depict evolutionary relationships between organisms using cladograms. To evaluate student understanding, students will complete an evolutionary relationships CER.

This resource allows students to read several paragraphs about a family and decide based on their comprehension, who is who in the pictured family. The activity itself is self-explanatory. Students will read the reading and decide who is who based on the descriptions given.
A possible way to use this in class is to remove the image of the family or have a blank silhouette of the family. The students then would need to draw in what each family member looks like based on the reading and comprehension level.
Another way to use this resource would be for students to bring in a photo of their own family and recreate a similar reading based on the physical descriptions of those in their own family.
