From Tazewell County comes this list of helpful video tutorials that can be used for Parents and Students, and for Teachers. The tutorials focus on specific tasks.
The students will learn what a digital citizen is and how to stay safe on the internet.
Students will love programming their "robot teacher" to maneuver around the classroom in this introductory coding lesson. Basic computer science concepts are defined and applied as students work together to plan, create, and test algorithms. Students will recognize that programmers are the brains behind machines and technologies.
This lesson has students explore how the gases trapped in ice cores over the last quarter of a century can be used to understand how Earth's atmosphere has changed in the past.
Students will read two secondary sources. The first is on Ida B. Wells and the second on Malala Yousafzai. Once they’ve read and analyzed these documents, they will create in collaborative groups a definition of “changemaker.” They will use that definition to identify and celebrate a changemaker in their world or in their community

This resource requires samples of each mineral be sorted and available for manipulation. Students should perform this lab in small groups 3 or 4 and use the spreadsheet provided write the features observed according to categories the teacher wants students to master.
The lab should take about 20-30 minutes.
The Earth Science textbook by Glenco or the attached reference sheet may be used by students.
