Would you like students to see how data analysis works in real life?  Using Gas Laws and Google Sheets students will definitely use their critical thinking skills to answer some questions and potentially manipulate their own created data!

This engaging lesson offers students multiple opportunities to collect data and create their own charts and graphs as they rotate through fun and exciting stations that incorporate computer science, math, science, and visual art.

Using shapes to make animals, students will graph the colors used in their animals to practice collecting data and analyzing graphs. 

Ever wonder how a pumpkin grows?  Let’s learn about growing pumpkins from seed to fruit!  Pumpkins are interesting and fun…let’s learn all about the pumpkin life cycle together and even get our hands dirty as we plant our own seeds and watch the magic happen.

Students will be picking an animal to create using 3doodlers. The students will be researching their animal and its habitat then create a diorama to model the animal's habitat.

Students will use Google Slides to create an artifact that illustrates their learning about Harriet Tubman & the Underground Railroad.  Slides will include specific components (i.e. video book talk).   

Students learn about cause and effect while learning basic troubleshooting skills.  Then students build their own “computers'' that blow bubbles.

   Bridging time by connecting the Past and the Present through letter writing and video conferencing and email. Students will explore similarities and differences between communication methods of the past (letter writing) and the present (email and video calling) to understand how technology has changed the way we connect with others.     

Students will conduct an experiment to see how light affects plant growth.  The teacher and students will use a computer to analyze and display the data.  The class will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using computers to evaluate data.

Students will be learning about what a pixel is and how they have changed over the years. We will then tie this into how the ancient Greeks created the Olympics and how the Olympics have changed. 

Students will process the quality of data used in campaign ads by identifying the nature and uses of language and imagery to become aware of how candidates use words and images to influence viewer opinion and verifying information by fact checking and determining if information has been mischaracterized.

This lesson allows student teams to learn some basic coding skills, play with a robot, and learn about hardware, software, input, and output, all while learning about the major geographic features of Africa.  Students will be engaged and excited while reinforcing their learning.

This 2 day lesson will start off by teaching the students about various materials we use in the classroom and how we can save on waste in the classroom.  We will learn about some of the things we use to write and how over time that has changed.  This will then take the students into day 2 of the lesson where they will learn about recycling and the importance of taking care of our Earth whether it be by taking care of various materials in our classroom to learning about things that we can recycle to help the Earth’s landfills with waste.

Students will be using Google scholar and learning ways to research using these technology topics.

The students will collect data about their classmates on screen time, grades, and amount of sleep. They will then organize and represent this data using scatterplots to see if they have a positive, negative, or no relationship to each other.

Students will use the internet to research how the internet, and computing, and innovation have influenced change in the world of Aviation for the past 50 years. They will use the information gathered to create a slide presentation of their findings. Students will give an oral presentation of their research findings.

Students will dive into the different components of computing systems, as we collect data from our homes to find out what computing systems are most commonly used in our families. Students will practice identifying inputs and output computer systems. 

Have you ever thought about how we determine the likelihood of certain events happening? Computational models are mathematical representations of real-world phenomena, while simulations mimic real-world processes. In this lesson, we will discuss computational models and simulations, and then perform a simulation to determine if the mathematical probability of getting heads when we flip a coin matches what we find in real life.
