This is a professional learning resource prepared for VBCPS and intended to be modified by other divisions as needed. The Schoology course was built based on the #GoOpenVA Workshop in a Box and enables asynchronous, remote professional learning.

The 7 Cups and VBCPS Growth PathsPersonalized Growth Paths contain activities made for those dealing with a certain situation. It helps a person understand what they are dealing with and self-heal with activities that are expertly compiled.There is also a “gamified” element to the Paths. Students complete “Steps” to fill their cups and move ahead on their chosen path.You can find text, slides, and videos  here or the Gratitue Growth Path on 7 Cups as well with a free membership.

This represents an entire unit designed to be cross curricular in nature for English 11 and VA/US History. The Historical Fiction Research Unit Google Doc can be found here and contains various links to additional resources to support this unit of study.The "before", "during", and "after" are included in each day for this series.  The unit will take approximately 12 days.

If you have a 5th member they can be a specialist.

This spreadsheet has links to audio files and lesson plans for the Kinetic Scholar lessons developed as part of the Active Learning grant our school division was awarded. Many are student voiced and all involve some sort of audio lesson paired with movement. We encourage teachers to take students outside to listen and move around with these lessons when possible to increase circulation, get some fresh air, and enjoy our beautiful campuses.

For the following project, students will be engaging in real-world topics research on a topic of their choice and producing an essay or proposal that argues their position on that topic.  This is a persuasive paper, not an expository paper.  They will need to take a position regarding the position they choose and support it using research.
